a strange anomaly went out over the air at the exact moment
the narration says THE WRONG DATE-1993,
for the passing away of Daniel Ruzo.
The corrected DVD date is 1991.
THE STORY BEHIND THE MYSTERIOUS GLITCH

Bill Cote, the film’s director and editor, had sent a final cut of the film just prior to the air date for the Documentary Channel. Over the past four years, I had assisted
him with the research for the production and was eager to view the film. With extraordinary footage, thought-provoking clues and mind-bending theories
as to the origins of the mysterious Stone Monuments, Bill had fully captured the spirit of Markawasi.
At the end of the film, Daniel Ruzo, the site’s discoverer, was given tribute. An emphasis was placed on his date of death 1993. This was incorrect.
From earlier conversations I'd had with Daniel’s widow (while researching my book, “Markawasi: Peru’s Inexplicable Stone Forest,”),
I knew that Daniel had passed at the age of 91, in 1991.
I contacted Bill immediately about the error, however, the master had already been sent to the television station.
On the night of the film’s worldwide debut, at the exact moment that the narrator mentions 1993, the screen flashed white followed by an intense pink/violet color that covers
Daniel’s face. It was televised to millions of viewers worldwide.
Bill quickly re-mastered the film, and sent the corrected version to the Documentary Channel for the next airing date.
If you observe the clip closely, a strange electronic glitch appears precisely at the moment that “1993” is mentioned. This type of anomaly has been reported by
travelers at Markawasi who have experienced electronic
equipment malfunction, and record unusual light phenomena on their camera.
Perhaps Daniel himself was exerting his will across the ethers to set the record straight?
